The Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) held a meeting with GIZ management in Ghana to discuss how these two organizations can establish a strategic partnership to enhance the transformation of the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone (NSEZ).

GIZ is a federally-owned enterprise operating worldwide providing international services for sustainable development, works on behalf of the German Government and most of their works are commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The meeting explored opportunities in the areas of affordable housing, agriculture and other social interventions which will facilitate significant transformation in the Northern Savannah Ecological Zone (NSEZ).

The Country Director of GIZ, Mr. Siegfried Christain Leffler highlighted some key projects undertaken by them in Ghana. These includes The African Cashew initiative, support to the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), among others.

In Mr. Leffler’s words, the German government has approved over 200million dollars which will be used to help establish Agriculture Innovation Centers in some selected countries including Ghana. He expressed his profound appreciation to the Board and Management of SADA for the great work they are doing to transform the NSEZ and reiterated his organization readiness to partner with SADA to ensure development is attain in the zone.

The CEO of SADA, Mr. Charles Abugre also enumerated the programs and policies that SADA is putting in place to ensure there is total transformation in the NSEZ. He mentioned some of the areas that GIZ can be of great support to SADA and also thanked the team for their quick response and making time to be part of this meeting.

Present at the meeting was the Board Chair of SADA Sulley Adam, Directors of SADA, Repsentatives of 3-Steps Company Limited, NHTC and Regional Coordinators of SADA.
