The UNWTO World Tourism Day celebration is an annual international event, celebrated globally to highlight the importance of tourism and its contribution to national and community development. Ghana, as an active member of the UNWTO, diligently observes the celebration of World
Tourism Day year on year in a designated region with the aim of promoting tourism in all parts of the country. In view of the potential socio-economic benefits accruing from the celebration of the World Tourism Day, SADA partnered the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture in the year 2016 to celebrate the event in Kintampo. Indeed this produced tangible outcomes in the following respects:

The Northern Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana, (NSEZ) has been touted as the rising star of the Tourism sector in Ghana. An anal- Tysis of the Tourism and Cultural resources of the Zone, led by the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA), reveals an enormous opportunities
and investment potential in the tourism sector. The Northern Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana, (NSEZ) accounts for 54.4% of the total land space of Ghana, making it the largest half of the country. Its geographical jurisdiction covers 63 districts and spans from the Northern, Upper East and Upper West Regions as well as parts of the Volta and Brong Ahafo Regions that are contiguous to the North.

The maiden episode of SADAFest was laudable as the event has left an indelible mark on the land of Kintampo, the centre of Ghana.
The three day was an eye opener and marked with pomp and pageantry. The world and domestic tourists were exposed to the rich diverse culture of the SADA zone, as well as the existence of scenic breath taking tourists attractions.

The Northern Savannah Ecological Zone of Ghana, NSEZ, is the biggest half of the country, occupying about 54.4% of the total land size of Ghana. The zone is endowed with diverse unpararelled business and investment potentials in the area of, commercial and mechanized agriculture, irrigation & agro-processing, financial services, water transport, solar energy, real estate, industrial and agro parks and ultimately tourism.
